Teddie Thorn is thrown into the Sea of Dreams, drowning in the hopes of others until she's pulled out by a tall, dark man on an ancient ship with blue-feathered sails. With no idea of where she is or why she's there, Teddie has one goal; get back to her baby brother so she can help him fight his inner demons of alcohol and drug addiction before it's too late.

She discovers monsters aplenty right here, in this strange place with an ever-changing sky and physics that don't make sense. Captain Bo and his living ship join Teddie on a journey to hunt down the person who's trying to kill her before she has a chance to escape Dreamland and return to her real life in the real world with real people where she can save her very real brother from his extremely real monsters before they destroy him.
