New Character: Finding Her Story

Alivia flew up here last week to recharge. Our batteries were drained and we needed time to just sit down and... maybe do absolutely nothing, thinking we'd at least write something.

We didn't write a single thing and it was glorious. Writing and being authors is something we super-love, but sometimes it really feels like this author business has overtaken our lives.

So, instead, we went hiking and playing in the snow, which was cold as crap. She came up from Montana which had been in the balmy double digits? I think? And then we played in the snow in rather chilly single digits. It was great, but she's back home now, quarantining before returning to work, and is super glad that she's where she's warm and being snuggled by cats who actually like everyone. I don't know how she lucked out there. Like, I just don't.

One of the things she and I absolutely love doing is creating characters in DAZ. Yes, I know. Some of our DAZ characters have seemed rather doll-like, and we've caugth some considerable flack for that. It takes a lot to make them look realistic.

I'm a very visual person, so doing these gets me geared up for writing the next great book, which takes me a few months to perculate. I need to run through story ideas and different personalities. What are a few quirks I'd like to write with her? I don't know. LOL!

I'm thinking of either having her as our next romantic lead or having her as the lead for this new series that literally hit me and kept me awake all night last nigh. I don't know which one it's going to be yet. But the new idea is a bit... dimension hopping? I think I can pull it off and it's an idea that's been gripping me for years, but I think I finally figured out how to make it work.
