Bonus! Author Editions!
I'd initially put this together thinking I was just going to get some fancy covers. That was a great thought, but the way I put it together... yeah. This Kickstarter has generated a lot of content that we're working diligently to get out to you.
The Author's Edition is one of those things.
Shane and I knew that we were going to putting in some extra scenes and giving you guys some extra content at the end of the books. And we knew there'd be some pretty amazing chapter headers. I mean, these books look gorgeous! What we didn't realize was that there'd be so many extended scenes.
We've both learned a lot about writing since I started this series, and we fought hard not to make some of these changes. But we couldn't feasibly go through these books and not do them the way we felt we needed to. So, in addition to the new scenes we'd already gathered and added, we modified and extended a lot of the remaining scenes.
When I looked at the Collector's Edition, it was so far and above what we'd had before. I mean, this is what I wished the first rendition had been. I wasn't this good yet, though, and I didn't have a writing partner. So, I don't know how that would have happened. I couldn't just let the old books stay in circulation when I had this version in my hands. I couldn't let people pick up the old books when I knew I had this one.
So, Shane and I came up with an idea. Directors do this to movies all the time. They're Director's Cut Editions. Why not do that here?
Initially, it was going to be the last thing we did, even though the creation of this version was the first step of the Collector's Edition process. The reason was the cover. It's taking all the time I have to create the Collector's Edition. Granted, I'm loving it, but I didn't have a spare moment to create a new cover. When I do a cover, it usually takes me a good day.
But then I did the interior art for Demon Whiskey, which didn't take overly long. As I was creating one of the graphics to share with you and my newsletter, an idea hit me. Why couldn't the interior for the Collector's Edition become the cover for the Author's Edition?
I loved the idea. So, I set the time and went to work. Within less than two hours, I had the new Author's Edition cover and I loved it! So, with an easily identifiable cover, the Author's Edition went out to the general public.
It's being really well received! I'm getting more downloads. There's more read through. This is saving this series. And! Demon Whiskey Author's Edition received a 5-star Reader's Review!

As you can see, the Collector's Edition black cover is so incredibly striking still! I absolutely love them! And the white covers are equally striking. I will say that the graphics alone that this Kickstarter has generated is insane! Banners, websites, ads. Soon, there'll be bookmarks! They're just amazing!
The black covers will not be sold on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, or anywhere else books are normally purchased. They're the Author's Edition with additional content in the back and with the beautiful chapter headings.
The white covers, however, are going wide. I'm replacing the older versions with these.
This is such a powerful transformation of this series. Not just of the covers, but the story held with the covers as well. This wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for you. Thank you!

This is probably my favorite Author's Edition cover, though my favorite Collector's Edition cover is still Witches Of the West.

I'm still going through the scenes Shane extended and added and then I'll format them. But I'm formatting the Collector's Edition of Demon Whiskey, Whiskey Witches, and Blood Moon Magick to get out to you first. Th to get out to you first. h
That wouldn't have happened if not for your support to this Kickstarter. So, thanks to Aletia for asking questions, I realized that in all my focus to get things done, I didn't update any of you on this! AND I didn't give you a copy of this book that was never supposed to happen and is the most amazing thing I've done for this series to date.
