Filling My Tank With Plants

SistaWitch and I have been having a great time bonding over plants. Well, and fish, though I haven’t taken the plunge to get that one yet. I want to. Don’t get me wrong. I just haven’t yet. One thing at a time.

Right now, however, we’re filling the office with plants. Her area of the office looks so amazing and witchy and filled with life and I’m so excited about it. It’s the first thing you see when you come into our shared office space.

But my office is bright and creative, a little chaotic… and I love it!

Meet the plants

I love plants. I love growing them from seed. I love watching them get bigger. And I love that I can grow them while ignoring them. That’s the best thing about them, I think.

Air plants

These are some of the newest additions. They’re air plants. I’ve been hesitant to get them because I killed the last one I had, but that was back in Denver and I really had no idea what I was doing at the time in taking care of plants. I still don’t, really. SistaWitch used to take care of plants while she went to college, which is beyond awesome. Me? I just learned by killing them. Sometimes slowly.

But so far, these guys are happy little additions. If you noticed, I do have a theme and that’s air jellyfish. My favorite series that I wrote is Devices of War and the lethara there. The series never took off, but that doesn’t mean I love it any less. Also, air jellies are making an appearance in Dreamland. I’m connecting all of my series together, even though they’re spanning through different pennames. I like it.

Eeps

You may have noticed my photo bombers. These guys have been around for over a decade for a book that I keep attempting to publish and haven’t. It’s in the 2026 lineup now, though, and they’ll be introduce in 2025 with the Dream Lord Wars.

I love having little gems hidden around in my office. It makes it a fun re-discovery every day.

The part of me that has the greatest value to those around me is something I am enjoying for myself. I find solutions, and if I can’t find them, I create them. I deeply enjoy creating.

Time to write

With my bucket filling, it’s time to write.
